Maria joined Blankinship & Foster in 2014 and brings a strong analytical foundation in portfolio management, investment analysis, and data analytics. She pairs her technical expertise with a focus on understanding and supporting her clients’ goals.
Maria enjoys working closely with clients to help them navigate complex financial decisions and achieve their long-term financial goals with confidence.
As Director of Investment Management, Maria oversees the firm’s investment management functions and leads the research, development, and implementation of Blankinship & Foster’s investment philosophy. She serves as Chair of the Investment Committee, which meets regularly to review investment strategies and evaluate current market conditions. In addition, Maria manages and maintains the firm’s investment software systems for trading and portfolio management.
Maria earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, San Diego. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her two daughters, husband, and dog.

I am very analytical and detail-oriented, which helps me perform the functions of my job well.
Do you have any pets? Tell us about them.
My husband and I rescued our dog, Woody, when he was a puppy. He has a lot of energy and quite the personality. He likes tug-o-war and soccer.
What professional accomplishment are you most proud of?
I am proud that I successfully passed all three levels of the CFA exams.
